Q. Do I need permit to build the fence?
A. No, you do not need permit but there are height regulations. City Of Ottawa Fence Bylaws.

Q. Do I need permit to build the deck
A. Yes, if the deck is 24" above the adjacent grade, more info at City Of Ottawa Bylaws.

Q. What do I need to be done before fence can be installed?
A. You need to check for underground utilities cables, this is free of charge service provided by City Of Ottawa. Locate companies usually need 5 business days to do locates but in summer you might want to call them 2 weeks before digging takes place.

Q. How to mark my property line?
A. There are few ways you can do this, one is to call survey company and they will mark corner points for your lot, but there is charge associated with this method. Second, you can do this yourself if you have survey paper that you should of received when you purchased the house. Here is example of survey and what to look for on it. Survey. Third, you can come to agreement with neighbors and decide where to put the fence.

Q. My neighbor does not agree to share the cost for a new fence, what should I do?
A. In the case where neighbor is not willing to share the cost of the new fence, you can install the fence on your side of the line, this means you will loose couple inches of your property but fence would be yours.

Q. How long does it take to  install a fence once drilling starts?
A. Most single homes we can put up the fence in 3-4 days overall.

Q. How deep do you dig?
A. We dig 42" to 48" deep

Q. What happens if you hit the rock?
A. We do have equipment that is capable of brake rocks, but there is additional charge for rocky holes

Q. What do you consider as rocky hole?
A. Rocky holes are considered if they are 4" and bigger in diameter

Q. I got charged for rocky holes but did not see any big rocks?
A. We do have rock auger bit with carbide teeth on the bottom of the bit and  in many case machine brakes rock into small pieces and that is why you do not see it.

Q. Are your post set in concrete?
A. Yes, all of our posts are set in concrete

Q. Do you frame your lattice on a wooden fence?
A. Yes, this ensures that lattice will not rattle and break as the years go by

Q. Do you put the post caps.
A. Yes, on all type of posts
